Is School Uniforms, A Representation Of The School?

Should students need to wear uniforms, is a big debate which is going on for the past many years. And still, people have not come to an agreement about it. When we speak frankly, there are advantages and disadvantages in it. One of the main reasons why many schools permit their students only to be in school uniformsschool uniforms is because of their formation of gangs. The schools insist on students to be in school uniforms as it decreases violence among the students and develops a sense of pride for the institution in which they study.

It breaks down the barriers between students of different economic groups or status. School uniforms are a representation of the school itself and the student community as such. It cannot be denied that most students or younger folk try to show off their individuality through their dresses. The uniforms will not allow them to do that. But the school authorities also feel that clothes are not the only means to exhibit the individuality of a person. The students feel that they are deprived the freedom of choice. And we talk of freedom in all aspects, and then the students feel why they are deprived of this simple freedom?
